Preston Hollow resident Win Bell will be honored in February with The Catholic Foundation Award in recognition of his more than two decades of service to Catholic schools and North Texas nonprofits.
The award is presented annually by The Catholic Foundation to one or more individuals who exhibit Catholic philanthropy. Bell will recognized on Feb. 20, 2027, at the 44th annual Catholic Foundation Award Dinner at the Hilton Anatole.
Bell, a graduate of Highland Park High School, is a former trustee of The Catholic Foundation whose career spans four decades in transportation, construction, and capital projects.
With a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, mathematics, and computer science, along with a master’s degree in computer science, Bell has used his expertise to guide almost 20 Catholic schools, educational institutions, and nonprofits in the Dallas area.
“Win’s a truth teller who won’t sunshine it up to make somebody feel good. He’s honest, full of integrity and well respected,” said Notre Dame School of Dallas President Dr. Caroline O’Brien. “Notre Dame of Dallas Schools has grown because of his invaluable work with our team. He’s the utility player that may not be involved in every play or make the glory shot at the end of the game, but with Win, you’ve got the right person in place who will provide what’s needed to win.”
Though retired, Bell has continued to serve as an owner’s representative for schools throughout North Texas.
He has long been a member of the board of trustees of the Shelton School. Bell has played a key role in fundraising and in Shelton’s campus expansion and renovation efforts.
“His expertise helps us avoid costly mistakes and ensures we’re good stewards of every dollar entrusted to Shelton,” said Shelton Executive Director Suzanne Stell. “His business sense, knowledge of construction, and dedication to Shelton have been invaluable.”
For more than four decades, The Catholic Foundation Award has recognized extraordinary individuals whose service has advanced the religious, charitable, and educational mission of the North Texas Catholic community.
