HP’s Nance Sets Mark at Mansfield Meet

The Highland Park boys claimed the team championship at their track and field season opener on Friday at the Maberry Invitational in Mansfield.

HP’s Mark Nance set a meet record in the 1,600 meters, while teammate Catcher Murphy won the pole vault. The Scots also took the 4×400 relay.

Meanwhile, the HP girls finished fourth at the Boyd Relays in McKinney on Saturday, highlighted by a gold medal in the 4×800 relay. Callie DeSchryver tied for first in the high jump, and Hattie Speicher was second in the long jump.

Next up, the HP boys will travel to the Trojan Relays in Carrollton on Feb. 25, while the girls will compete at the Hebron Hawk Invitational.
