Signing Day: Senior Athletes Recognized

Hillcrest pitcher Robert Hamman signed with Kansas State on Wednesday, the first day of the fall signing period for college-bound senior athletes.

The right-handed baseball ace was one of several signees from area schools feted for finalizing their college athletic commitments.

At Jesuit Dallas, four athletes were honored, led by swimmer William Savarese, who signed with Michigan. Savarese was a silver medalist in the 500 freestyle at the Class 6A state meet in February.

Other Jesuit signees included golfer Max Chan (New Mexico State), lacrosse player Beckett Foley (Iona), and baseball pitcher Jaxx Rigelsky (Centenary).

Ursuline’s group of six signees includes soccer players Bella Zanoni (Illinois) and Quetza Garza (St. Mary’s), along with Madelyne Davis (basketball, Houston Christian), Loren Winn (volleyball, Connecticut), Sonia Hao (golf, Santa Clara), and Reagan Chen (lacrosse, Embry-Riddle).

Greenhill had three girls sign with prestigious programs: Josie Arbuckle (swimming, UCLA), Devin Davis (soccer, Tennessee), and Sibelle Zambie (basketball, Lehigh). Also signing were Parish Episcopal softball players Caden Young (Prairie View) and Ciara Matthews (Weatherford College).
